Enduring Love

1 Chronicles 16:34 (CSB)

34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;

his faithful love endures forever.

Think about the children of God we can be. If we are honest, we can be pretty bad children. We are constantly begging for stuff from God. We are constantly complaining to Him. We can be disobedient. It has to be at least a little tough to love us sometimes. But God loves us and sticks to the greater plan He has for us, despite our begging for the things He knows is not right for us. How merciful!

Give Thanks

1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us… (18) in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you… We should live in continual thankfulness for the things the Lord has done and will continue to do in our lives. We can be so shortsighted when we are making our demands to the Lord. Whether our plans are answered or not, we must be thankful because His will for our lives is so much better than our own. I cannot tell you how thankful I am for some of the unanswered prayers that ended up some of my greatest blessings from the Lord.

He Is Good

Like a father that must lead his children down the right path no matter how much it may hurt or disappoint, our heavenly Father is good and has nothing but the best of intentions for us. Sometimes we need a helpful reminder that He is good. When prayers are left unanswered, when it feels like He has ignored our request, we must understand that He is good and that everything will end up benefiting our walk with Him because of His goodness.

His Faithful Love Endures… Forever!

We have a God, a heavenly Father, a Savior, a Master, and His faithful love endures forever. When we mess up, when our faith is low, when we are disobedient, when we are complaining, His love will still endure. Romans 8:38–39 promises… (38) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, (39) nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord… Nothing can separate us from the love of God, if that does not amaze you, I am not sure what will!

Closing Thoughts:

Spend time in prayer right now thanking God for the many blessings in your life. Thank Him for His enduring love. God is good, can I get an amen?

1 John 4:9–11 (NKJV)

9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
