Happy Mother's Day!

Proverbs 31:28–29 (NIV) 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

I am very lucky to have a wonderful wife, and our children are equally blessed by the mother she is to them. A mother has a very difficult job, we are reminded in Proverbs 22:6 (6) Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it… As parents, we must train the child in the way he or she should go, mothers also have to love them and show them grace as well. There is a very fine balance there, and I am blessed by the way my wife strikes that balance. Her Children Arise And Call Her Blessed This is the goal of every parent, is it not? To have her children arise and call her blessed. A mother prays that her children will grow up to be respectful. It may be a difficult road to get there, but that is the ultimate goal of any parent, especially mothers. It is also the goal of any Christian mother to raise children that fear the Lord into adulthood. A mother must be that godly, steadfast example to her children. Her Husband Praises Her This is where I fail sometimes… okay, more often than I would like to admit. Husbands, our wives do a ton and sometimes we fail to give them credit for all that they do. I know my wife has a full-time job, she educates our children and still finds time to do everything else that needs to be done on a daily basis. Guys, we need to be continually thankful for all that these saints do. Many Women Do Noble Things, You Surpass Them All I hate to turn this devotional into a brag session about my own wife, but my hope is that all the husbands reading this feel the same exact way about their wives. Many women are out there doing great things. Women are out spreading the Gospel, many are leading woman’s studies, and a majority are out there loving on all of God’s children whether they are theirs or other people’s children. I look at all that my wife accomplishes and stand in wonder. My wife is doing noble things, whether that be the steadfast love she shows our children even during the toughest times or being that godly example that every child needs, I do think she is worthy of all this praise, as I’m sure your’s are as well Closing Thoughts: I stand very thankful for all that my wife does and the love she shows our children. Guys, take the time today to express just how thankful you are for that special woman in your life. They have very difficult jobs, and I know ours are doing absolutely great! 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV) 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
