Psalm 56:3 (NIV)
3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
Sometimes our fears are trivial, like when we are worried about a test or task at work. Other times, fears are far more serious like here in this Psalm where David’s enemies are hounding him all day long. David is truly facing a life or death situation. In all fears, large or small, we must put our trust inside the loving hands of our awesome God!
Why Trust God?
Romans 8:28 reminds us… (28) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose… If we are in a fearful situation we must remember that God will work all things out for our good. How many situations have you been in that end with God doing something amazing! When we allow God to work through the situation, we usually find blessings on the other side. The question is, do we truly love God enough to trust Him with our life?
But I Worry…
Matthew 6:25 offers the following… (25) “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?… We must have faith that the Lord is going to provide for our every need. Our Father knows what we need and will provide.
He Is Our Hope!
Romans 15:13 (13) Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit… If we fill our lives up with fear, what room is there for the power of the Holy Spirit? Let us instead fill our lives with hope, joy, and peace.
Put your trust in Him!
Psalm 9:10 (NKJV)
10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
