Matthew 7:7–8 (NKJV)

7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

When things are going well in my walk with the Lord, He feels like He is right there next to me. It is almost as if I could reach out and touch Him. Unfortunately, that is not where I dwell constantly. There have been times over the past 15 years that I wandered away a little. I am thankful that those times of wandering away never lead to being truly lost. Where are you at today? Is it time to reconnect?

Ask, And It Will Be Given

The Lord wants to hear our requests, and when they align with His will, He absolutely desires to answer them. But, if taken out of context, unanswered prayer can lead to doubt. Have you ever prayed with everything you had only to never see it come to fruition? It happens a lot. If you do not have the proper insight, that can lead you to wonder if the Lord even listens to your request. 1 John 5:14 reminds us… (14) Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us… That thing you keep praying for, well, sometimes God has a better plan. The question is how do we pray according to His will? The more and more you connect with God, the more you will understand what He wants for you and your life. Once you understand His will, the things you seek will be vastly different.

Seek And You Will Find

Jeremiah 29:13 (13) And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart… If you are trying to reconnect with God, or connecting for the first time for that matter, it is important that we seek Him with our whole heart. If we expect to find God, it cannot happen with a half-hearted attempt. We must seek Him with everything we have! If you have strayed away, seek Him once more with your whole heart. What does that look like? It looks like dedicated Bible study. God has shown Himself through scripture, it is up to us to discover Him!

Knock And It Will Be Opened

If you are asking Him and seeking Him, we will be brought to the doorway of eternal reward. The Lord is standing at the door just waiting for us to knock on it in faith. He is our father, no matter what condition we come to the door in, He will be faithful to open it to His children. If you have strayed away, it is time to knock on the door and seek your heavenly Father!

Closing Thoughts:

No matter where you are reading this devotional or the condition of your heart towards God, He wants us to be seeking Him! It is time to reconnect and recommit to your heavenly Father! Just knock on the door and it will be opened to you!

1 John 3:1 (NKJV)

1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
