John 3:36 (NKJV)
36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
Why should we witness to others? Because he who believes in the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. As believers, we have studied the Scripture and found it to be full of hope, promise, and joy. If we completely understand the goodness of God, why would we avoid telling others? Revelation is full of horrible visions, torment, plagues, pain, and punishment, do you want to see a single person succumb to that fate? I certainly don’t.
1 Timothy 2:4 tells us that God desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. If we are faithful servants, we should be abiding in that same hope. If God wants to see all people saved, that is where our hearts must be as well. God loves the whole world, not this part of that, He does not love this person more than that person, God loves everyone, equally.
We see in Mark 13:10 that the Gospel must be preached in all nations. Whether you are in the United States, Ireland, England, Singapore, or anywhere in between, it does not matter. The Gospel must be preached in every country, every state, every city, and every community. This is a tough task so the workers must be many, each of us must do our part to reach our community.
Why do we witness? How are people going to know about the good news of Christ if they are not told? How is the Gospel going to spread if it is not coming from our lips? How do we reach a world in such desperate need of hope if we are not willing to voice it? How will the world know of the love of Christ if we are unwilling to show it?
The world needs to hear of the great hope the Lord provides. Speak it through your lips and live it out through your actions.
Luke 12:8–9 (NKJV)
8 “Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. 9 But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.
