Wake Up!

Romans 13:11 (NKJV)

11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

Have you ever taken a long road trip? Think about how the trip starts and ends. Most trips start off with a massive amount of excitement, you can’t wait to get on the road, you are excited to see the landmarks along the way, you simply cannot wait to get out of the normal routine and have some fun. The end is full of excitement as you reach your destination. Then, there is the middle, that stretch of 100 miles where you have trouble focusing and you are in a state somewhere between dozing off and completely asleep. Our Christian walk can be very much the same.

And We Are Off

2 Corinthians 5:17 says… (17) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new… We are a new creation! How wonderful is that promise? This is usually when we are the most on fire for the Lord. We have been forgiven of our old transgressions, the old man has passed away and we are brand new in Christ! We have just started our new life and look forward to our new journey. Life is good!

Are We There Yet?

John 16:33 promises… (33) These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world… We are absolutely promised that we will have tribulation, we will experience pain, life is not going to be all sunshine and roses. This is the part of our trip that can cause us to doze off a little. The road has been long, we are hurting, we are tired, and the enemy keeps attacking. We are ready to get to our destination.

Time To Wake Up!

The end is in sight, but there is a lot of work left to do. Who knows when the Lord will return, but as Christians, we must awake as though His return is imminent. Our trip is almost over, we have fought the good fight, we are in the final hours. Whatever we have faced, whatever tribulations we have overcome, the reward is worth significantly more than the sacrifice. The only question is, how many of your friends and family members have you picked up along the way? I hope by now you have filled your vehicle to the point where the frame is riding on the tires. I hope there are more people coming with you on your journey than you can count. Take a look around, if your vehicle is empty, pick up as many as you can from here on out, enjoying every mile of your trip.

Closing Thoughts:

This is an amazing journey, one that should not be traveled alone. You have the ticket to the greatest destination available, share it with someone today!

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
